Chinese men's solo Miao Zhao Junpeng's opponent in this round is World No. 18 Planoy. The only previous encounter between the two sides happened at this year's Indonesia Open, when Zhao Junpeng passed 2-0.

In mixed doubles, top seeds Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong swept No. 8 seeds Chen Jianming/Lai Peijun 21-9, 21-9, and will play a derby against No. 4 seeds Wang Yilu/Huang Dongping, who defeated No. 5 21-16, 21-15 Seed Seo Seung Jae / Chae Yoo Kyung.
