Marcelo announced his departure: This is my farewell game at Real Madrid, I am leaving

Last summer, Real Madrid lost captain Ramos. Now, Real Madrid has to say goodbye to another captain. After Real Madrid won the Champions League, Marcelo publicly announced that he will bid farewell to the Bernabeu when his contract expires this summer.

"It's a huge joy to win the 14th Champions League trophy in the history of the team," Marcelo said. "This will be my last game at Real Madrid, so it's a joy to end my Real Madrid career like this. I'm leaving the team, it's not a sad day. If I had to decide, I'd stay at Real Madrid for the rest of my life. But unfortunately, it's not going to happen, I've talked to the club."

Marcelo joined Real Madrid in January 2007, where he played for 15 and a half years. Marcelo played 545 times for Real Madrid, scoring 38 goals and assisting 103 times, and won 25 trophies with the team. These 25 championship trophies include 6 La Liga, 2 King's Cup, 5 Western Super Cup, 5 Champions League, 3 European Super Cup and 4 Club World Cup.

Marcelo, at his peak, was one of the best attacking left-backs in football history.

But after Mendy joined Real Madrid, Marcelo's state declined with age, and he gradually became a substitute. Marcelo has only made 18 appearances this season. 18 appearances is the worst record of Marcelo's Real Madrid career, except for 6 appearances in the middle of the 06/07 season.

After the contract expires, Marcelo will bid farewell to the Bernabeu on a free transfer. If he can't get the ideal contract in Europe, Marcelo may return to his old club Fluminense when he debuted.
